Each of us, I believe, were given a ‘Bag Full of Time’ the moment we were born into this world. And the rest of the story in life is about how we spent what was in that bag. What we bought with it, what we exchanged it for. That is what determines who we become and what we achieve in life. Selah!
And also I think that ‘Time’ was given to us ‘Freely’ because it was ‘Priceless’.
In the next few posts, I will be writing about the various ‘Tools’ required for “Success at the Workplace” and I want to start with ‘Time’, the most important.
Time is a costly resource in the hands of any human being. One needs to learn and understand the various ways of using it. I used to have a boss who said, “I will not waste a single second talking to a person who does not wear a watch. He is wasting two people’s time”. I was young then and I thought it was an arrogant & a nasty comment. But as the years go, I understand the meaning of the word ‘time wasted’.
“No man ever steps into the same river twice, for its not the same river and he’s not the same man” – Heraclitus
Time flies! In 3G-ZooZoo speed, if you ask me! And the best example of wasted time (even though its an old one) is the water flowing under a bridge. That water will never come back. Its gone forever!
1. Be conscious of your time:
The first step towards using ‘Time’ well is to become ‘Conscious’ of it. Time is a slippery commodity. Before you know, it could be teatime, then lunch time and then the day is over. And you may not have achieved much in the day. So, being ‘Conscious’ of time is important.
My ‘time’ to close this blog has come. So, I will continue to write more about ‘Time’ in the next post. If you have any thoughts, feel free to share it. Have a good day!
